Roast excellent but probably not worth the 4 hour wait after putting name down at 12:30

A lovely, rustic little pub in Angel that serves up a rotating menu pub lunch. An ideal place to visit on the weekend, this pub serves some excellent cuisine. Try their pulled pork shoulder with apple sauce and their starter platter. With a lovely selection of ales and beers this is a good place to laze around for a long pub lunch on a Sunday.

The servers go a long way to please you even if you are vegan (although it's a meat eater restaurant). Great produce. They change the menu daily! Better to book.

Very tasty food, slightly pricy but we enjoined it. I recommend the dark chocolate hot pot for dessert!

Sunday roast here was PHENOMENAL, one of the best ones I've had in London! Get the beef for 2 share with bone marrow, sooo tender and delicious with lots of gravy. Not usually a big fan of Yorkshire pudding but this one was light and made well for mopping up the bone marrow. Comes with creamed leeks and roasted veggies on the side, such a great deal!

Had an amazing experience. 8,5/10 in Myke scale. Nice staff. Creative menu. The steak could have been cooked a touch better but the sauce was the best I have in the UK. The sharing board was also outstanding, scotch egg excellently cooked, fish nice and chrispy. Overall really preasant experience.

Such an incredible pub. The atmosphere is chilled, whilst buzzing with the hum of locals catching up. The menu is uncomplicated, whilst bursting with complex flavours. The dishes are simple, with a focus on great quality ingredients. The beer I had was local, brewed at Hammerton Brewery around the corner. And finally, the service was attentive, human and genuinely 5* but without being over fussy. This might make my list of all time favourite pubs.

Went for a late Sunday lunch for 3. Didn't book in advance, got there at about 1215 to put our name down on the list and enjoyed a drink at the bar in the meantime. Got seated at 140. It was totally worth the wait - perfectly cooked lamb and pork roast, finished with a rice pudding and Apple crumble. We were happily rolling out of there. London gastropub at it's finest. Will definitely go again, probably with a booking.

Outstanding roast - we each tried the lamb, roast beef, and pork. Each was excellent. The rice pudding was our standout dessert. Try the Romanian Pinot Noir with the roast. Excellent service - thank you Olga! - and a lovely ambience.

Went here for the first time with my friends for their “Sunday Roast”. Had to book a table one month earlier, as the place was full. The place was nice and cozy and the waiters were polite. Food came out fast and didn’t make us wait for long. Overall, the place (atmosphere) was good, service was good and the food was good. Would I wait for one month to eat here again? probably not, and one time was enough for all of us. We had to work, just so we could eat! I really hope they change their knifes as it was a workout to cut the meat!!

The Pig and Butcher is booked up months in advance for its Sunday Roast. It’s for a good reason too. The food is nothing short of spectacular. All of the ingredients are fresh and from farm to table.

We were queuing outside the pub 15 minutes before it opened and we still didn't get a table. The staff were really friendly though and seated us at the bar.The Sunday roast was excellent. The Yorkshire pudding was the size of my head. We both had the lamb and whilst there wasn't a lot of it, it was very tender. Everything was cooked brilliantly and the additional side dish of creamed leeks really made the difference.

I was looking for a special place in London where locals go and I found it here . I booked in advance for dinner and what an experience . Meg was our sever and she was delightful . Since my husband and I loved beer, we asked which beer would be best with dinner and that's when Tom stepped in and advised us on which beer would pair best with dinner. Our dinner was 65 day dry aged beef which was incredible. I wish this restaurant was near my home, the staff are happy to help you have a wonderful experience. Going down as the perfect memorable moments with my husband in London, thank you.

Top notch! These guys know their beers and their meat. Excellent service, the kind you would expect in a very nice restaurant, you will be well taken care of.And then the food will tingle your taste buds in just the right way. Honestly, I don't know if the lamb I had got me all happy-feeling or the ale I had with it.

Came here on Sunday following the reviews for the best Sunday roast in London and it fulfilled my expectations! We were a party of 5 people and didn't reserve a table therefore the wait has been pretty long but it was all our fault. After two hours a table on the second floor was arranged for us and a fantastic waitress helped us out by presenting all the different dishes.I ordered a roasted leg lamb and it was lovely! Just perfectly rare and juicy, accompanied with a nice selection of side dishes. The beer was also nice and fruity.Highly recommended!

Had pork shoulder roast, huge portion at 19£ but I would say it's very good value for money. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. First come first served so go before opening (midday on Sunday).

We were lucky to get a walk-in, but advise that you book ahead. The food here is simply delicious and the stand out dish was the flank steak which was cooked to perfection and had great texture.Extensive but pricey wine list and a great selection of beers.

The food was really good quality but definitely felt more like a restaurant, than a pub. Our table had Steak, Pork and Plaice and everyone was happy with the food. About £130 for four mains and 6/7 drinks, so could be considered pricey by some. Cute idea to present bills I old jam jars.

Proper gravy and a well cooked yorkshire are essential for a great Sunday roast and Pig and Butcher have nailed it. The beef was tender and pink and there's a healthy choice of wines and beers. Can't fault it!

The best roast in London. Went with a group of 4 the service was amazing. Food is consistent and might be in if the best roasts I’ve had.

Sunday roast is a British tradition that I can get behind and The Pig and Butcher never disappoints. Well appointed from start to finish, the cozy pub space helps make the inevitable wait worth it. Local tip: arrive by 11:45 and you should be good to go. Arrive a bit later and grab drink(s) nearby.

Very good British food. Meat is always freshly selected from the local suppliers. The pork and the steak were really tasty. The bone marow lacked a bit of salt. Expensive, but very nice atmosphere for dinner.

Nice service, expensive food not of the best quality. For somewhere that prides itself on sourcing meat a minute steak, not very good, was the only steak on offer. Other food slightly better, but not worth the price. Very disappointing.

Walked in without reservation and although the restaurant was quite busy, they managed to find me a table.Very nice atmosphere, well located in Angel, the food was outstanding but it took more than 20 min to arrive, so make sure you get a starter (it’s worth it) and a nice drink to wait for the main. The size of the portions are good. It’s a bit pricy and they charge the tap water (weird), the staff are cool but one of them was a bit moody. I recommend.

This place is always an absolute gem! Went for Sunday roast as a group of 6, booked in advance. If you don’t have a booking. Queue up at 11:45 and put your name in for later. Then go for a wander in the area. It’s worth the wait! The food was phenomenal along with service. Shared the turkey roast with my mom and the rest went with the pork. Everyone was very happy! Not one complaint! I love their creamed leaks, and potatoes. Everything is very fresh. I had a grapefruit g&t and it was delicious. Had the pear crumble at the end of the meal also delicious!

What an amazing, amazing place. Welcomed in the most friendly way, though we had to come back 3 hours later because we wanted a Sunday roast but hadn't reserved a table. But when we did come back, the food was amazing, the staff was welcoming and I just don't want to try any other place for Sunday roast now! Will definitely be back.

Steak and Pork dishes are excellent. The sole fish could be better. Wished we had been there on a Sunday where their Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding are the best we had tasted. This place is just about 8 minutes walk from Angel Station

Definitely one of the best places for Sunday Roast. Highly recommend to book in advance as if not the line is long and waiting time is too much. Also, once ordered, feel comfortable as the waiting time for the food can be an hour...

Great local food, relaxed setting and good atmosphere. Love that half of the seats are not for booking so it’s doesn’t always an opportunity to get a last minute table.
